PRINCIPLES REGARDING THE MAKE-UP EXAM
Pursuant to Article 30 of the YTU Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, the principles regarding the Make-up exam are as follows;
1. In order to be eligible to take the make-up exam; it is mandatory to have registered for the relevant courses in the academic year in which the exam will be held and to have fulfilled the requirements to be eligible to take the final exam for these courses. Students who cannot take the make-up exams are not granted the right to an excuse exam for this exam.(Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, an Excuse Exam for the Make-up exam will be held in the 2020-2021 Fall semester)
2. Students can take the make-up exam for courses with a grade of DC and lower (excluding F0). The grade obtained in the make-up exam replaces the final exam grade for that course. At the end of the make-up exam, the letter success grade is determined by considering the weights of the midterm exam, in-semester work, and the make-up exam grade.
3. Students who do not take the make-up exam for a course are given a grade of E (Incomplete), and the letter grade for this course remains as the final letter grade. Make-up letter grades are included in the semester grade point average.
4. In accordance with the YTU Exam Directive, students who do not take the final exam are deemed to have failed (FF) the relevant course regardless of the midterm exam grade. (Added by Senate decision dated 11.07.2019 and numbered 04-02.)
Note: The final letter grades of students who do not have attendance issues but did not take the final exam should not be entered into the system as F0.
If students who fulfill the attendance requirement but do not take the final exam are given an F0 grade denoting absenteeism, these students will not be eligible to take the Make-up Exam.
