2022-2023 Summer School Process

YTU Students Taking Courses From YTU Summer School

Applications are made via OBS on the dates specified in the academic calendar. YTU students log in to the system with their OBS username and password.

YTU students determine the courses they wish to take via OBS and pay the designated fee for the courses.

Procedures regarding Summer School course fees for the 2022-2023 Academic Year will be announced on the website of our University's Department of Health, Culture and Sports.

The total number of courses students will take in Summer School cannot exceed 9 (nine) credits, provided that they do not conflict.

YTU Students Taking Courses Outside the Department

The total number of courses students will take in Summer School cannot exceed 9 (nine) credits, provided that they do not conflict.

The content of the course to be taken from other departments must be 75% compatible and this course must not conflict with other courses in your schedule.

If the course you wish to take is offered by other departments in the summer school and is included in the List of Courses That Can Be Taken From Other Departments ;

You must submit the Petition for Taking Courses from Another Department in Summer School to our Department together with the receipt indicating that the course hour fee has been paid, no later than the end of working hours on 13.07.2023.

Students' requests to take courses from a different department are accepted by the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board upon the recommendation of the Department Head Office and added to the system by the Faculty Dean's Office Student Affairs. After these courses are added to the system by the faculty dean's office student affairs, they are transferred to the online system by UZEM.

If the course you wish to take is offered by other departments in the summer school and is not included in the List of Courses That Can Be Taken From Other Departments, the following steps must be followed.

You must send the course contents to the faculty member who teaches our department's equivalent course and obtain approval as indicated in the example below. (can be via institutional email address)

For example: The faculty member must give approval as: "The content of MTM3512 Complex Analysis 1 is 75% compatible in terms of content with MAT4111 Theory of Complex Functions 1."

You must submit the obtained approval to our Department together with the receipt indicating that the course hour fee has been paid, along with the Petition for Taking Courses from Another Department in Summer School , no later than the end of working hours on 13.07.2023.

YTU Students Taking Courses From Other Higher Education Institutions

Universities approved for students of our YTU Department to take courses from in summer school are listed below.

•Istanbul Technical University

•Middle East Technical University

•Bogazici University

•Istanbul University

•Marmara University

If the course you wish to take is offered by other universities in the summer school and is included in the List of Courses That Can Be Taken From Other Universities, you may register at the host university and take the relevant course WITHOUT SUBMITTING A PETITION to our Department.

You may take courses from other universities if the desired course is not offered in our Department or if there is a conflict with courses you are taking. Our students without any valid reason cannot take courses from other universities in summer school.

During the summer school, the total credits of all courses taken must not exceed 9.

If it exceeds 9 credits, courses taken from other universities or other departments will not be accepted under any circumstances.

If the course you wish to take is offered by other universities in the summer school and is not included in the List of Courses That Can Be Taken From Other Universities, the following steps must be followed.

Along with the obtained approval, the Petition for Taking Courses from Another University in Summer School must be filled out and submitted to our Department.
