Those Who Can Apply for the Exam:
Students who have at most two failed courses (FF, FD, DD) remaining for graduation
Students who cannot graduate because their grade point average is below 2.00 (from at most two conditionally passed (DC) courses of their choice)
NOTE: Students who have not selected courses and have not paid tuition fees in the semester in which the Graduation Exam is to be held must pay the tuition/contribution fee for the relevant semester in order to apply for the Graduation Exam.
(Adopted by the Senate decision dated 07.02.2013 and numbered 2013/03-26.)
In order to take the graduation exam, it is mandatory to have fulfilled the requirements to take the final exam of the relevant course. Students who cannot take the graduation exams are not granted the right to an excuse exam for this exam.
The student takes the graduation exam in whichever language the course was previously taken (in Turkish if taken in Turkish, in English if taken in English). In repeated courses, if the course was not previously taken in English, the graduation exam cannot be conducted in English.
Students who have at most two courses remaining for graduation are administered a graduation exam for their failed courses, to be held on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Students who cannot graduate because their grade point average is below 2.00 may take the graduation exam in at most two conditionally passed courses of their choice. (Amended by the Senate decision dated and numbered 09.06.2016/02-13)
In order to be successful in the graduation exam, it is mandatory to receive at least a CC grade. The grade obtained in the exam replaces the final achievement grade of that course. Midterm exams and in-semester work are not included in the evaluation.
Grades of DC and lower received in the graduation exam will not be taken into account. Therefore, the student's grade for the relevant course will remain as the grade prior to taking the graduation exam.
Students who have a course they have never taken before, or who have an F0 grade in any course even if taken, cannot take the graduation exam for any course.
After applications are received, applications of students whose applications do not comply with the Graduation Exam Principles will not be evaluated, and in case they take the exam by mistake, their exam results will be deemed invalid.
Students whose cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is 2.00 and above can only take the exam for courses they have failed.
Students whose cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is below 2.00 may take the exam for conditionally passed courses of their choice. Since a student can take the exam for at most 2 courses, the sum of their failed courses (if any) and conditionally passed courses to be chosen cannot exceed 2. To register for the exam of a conditionally passed course, the student must first register for the failed course, if any.
Students who have not selected courses for the semester in which the graduation exam will be taken, but who will benefit from the graduation exam, must pay the tuition/contribution fee for the semester in which they will take the exam. (Added by Senate decision 16.04.2015/01-06.)
