Graduation Exam Application Petition-SAMPLE.docx
(Adopted by the Senate decision dated 07.02.2013 and numbered 2013/03-26.)
In order to be able to take the graduation exam, it is compulsory to have fulfilled the requirements to enter the final exam of the relevant course. No excuse exam right is granted for this exam to students who cannot take the graduation exams.
For students who have at most two courses remaining for their graduation, graduation exams are held for their failed courses to be conducted on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Students who cannot graduate because their cumulative grade point averages are not 2.00 may take the graduation exam for at most two conditionally passed courses of their choice. (Amended by Senate decision dated 09.06.2016 and numbered 02-13)
In order to be successful in the graduation exam, it is compulsory to receive a grade of at least CC. The grade received in the exam replaces the final achievement grade of that course. Midterm exams and in-semester evaluations are not included in the assessment.
Grades of DC and lower received in the graduation exam will not be taken into account. Therefore, the student's grade for the relevant course will remain as the grade prior to taking the graduation exam.
Students who have a course that they have never taken before, or who have an F0 grade in any course even if they have taken it, cannot take the graduation exam for any course.
After receiving the applications, the applications of students whose application does not comply with the Graduation Exam Principles will not be evaluated, and in the event that they take the exam inadvertently, their exam results will be deemed invalid.
Students whose cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is 2.00 and above can only take the exam for the courses they have failed.
Students whose cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is below 2.00 can take the exam for conditionally passed courses of their choice. Since a student can take the exam for a maximum of 2 courses, the total of their failed courses, if any, and the conditionally passed courses they choose cannot exceed 2. In order to register for the exam of a conditionally passed course, the student must first register for the failed course, if any.
Students who have not selected courses for the semester in which the graduation exam will be taken, but will benefit from the graduation exam, must pay the contribution fee/tuition fee for the semester in which they will take the exam. (Added by Senate decision dated 16.04.2015 and numbered 01-06.)
