PRINCIPLES REGARDING THE MAKE-UP EXAM
Pursuant to Article 30 of the YTU Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, the principles regarding the make-up exam are as follows;
1. In order to be able to take the make-up exam; it is mandatory to have registered for the relevant courses in the academic year in which the exam is held and to have fulfilled the requirements to be eligible to take the final exam for these courses. Students who cannot take the make-up exams are not granted the right to an excuse exam for this exam.
2. Students may take the make-up exam for courses with a grade of DC or lower (excluding F0). The grade obtained in the make-up exam replaces the final exam grade of that course. At the end of the make-up exam, the letter grade is determined by considering the weights of the midterm exam, in-term studies, and the make-up exam grade.
3. Students who do not take the make-up exam for a course are assigned an E (Incomplete) grade, and the letter grade for that course remains as the final exam letter grade. Make-up letter grades are included in the semester grade point average.
Note: For students who have no absenteeism but did not take the final exam, their final letter grades must not be entered into the system as F0. The letter grades of students who attended classes but did not take the final exam must be determined according to the result of the specified weights of the midterm and final exams (only for the 2019-2020 academic year spring semester: 30% midterm exam + 70% final exam). In this case, the student's final exam grade will be taken as 0 (Zero) and the letter grade will be determined.
If students who fulfill the attendance requirement but did not take the final exam are given an F0 grade denoting absenteeism, they will not be eligible to take the Make-up Exam.
