THE MATTERS TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION BY STUDENTS WHO WISH TO TAKE COURSES FROM OTHER DEPARTMENTS OF OUR UNIVERSITY IN THE 2023-2024 FALL SEMESTER ARE STATED BELOW.
•The student is required to be eligible for graduation at the end of the FALL semester (including courses for which they will take the graduation exam)
•There must be no course conflict between the courses requested to be taken from other departments and the student's entire course schedule.
•A maximum of 2 courses may be taken, for one time only.
•The content of the course to be taken from other departments must be 75% compatible.
•It must not exceed the total course credit limit that can be taken in a semester.
•The fact that internships have not been completed does not pose any problem.
•Students who have previously taken courses from other departments cannot take courses again. (Except summer school)
STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED BY STUDENTS WHO WILL TAKE COURSES FROM OTHER DEPARTMENTS;
•You can obtain approval via e-mail from any of the faculty members teaching our Department's course corresponding to the course taken from the other department.
•You can make a request to the faculty member by sending the course content link from http://bologna.yildiz.edu.tr/ for the other department course you request to have counted.
•It must be clearly stated by the faculty member in the approval e-mail as in the example: ”The content of the course MTM3512 Complex Analysis 1 is 75% compatible in terms of content with the course MAT4111 Complex Function Theory 1.”
•You must submit the approval you received in person to the Department Student Affairs along with your signed petition between 27.09.2023 – 03.10.2023 (until the end of working hours)
(Petitions are not accepted via e-mail).
•The date 27.10.2023 is the announcement date of courses closed by all departments. Make sure that the course has not been closed that you will specify in your petition.
•Petitions arriving before and/or after the specified dates will not be evaluated.
Petition for Taking Courses from Another Department
Important Information:
•Since the process of taking courses from another department coincides with the start of classes, you must attend the courses specified in your petition even if your petition has not been concluded yet.
•The result of your petition will be provided to your student e-mail address or as an informational announcement on the department website. (It takes approximately 1 week from the application deadline.)
•The courses of students whose petitions are accepted will not appear on OBS throughout the Fall semester. The courses will be taken by Faculty Decision, and the decision will be communicated to the relevant faculty. At the end of the semester, after the letter grades are sent to our faculty by the department/faculty where the course was taken, the relevant courses will be defined in your Transcript.
