YTU Senate Principles of the Regulations for Graduate Education and Training Article 28-
(1) "A thesis advisor is assigned to students upon the recommendation of the Institute Department/Major Art Department Chair and the approval of the EYK. The advisory duty is carried out by the Institute Department/Major Art Department Chair until a thesis advisor is assigned.
(2) Upon the request of the student and the relevant faculty member, the opinion of the Department/Major Art Department, and the decision of the EYK, a thesis advisor is assigned at the latest by the end of the first semester in master's programs with thesis, and at the latest by the end of the second semester in PhD programs. For students whose advisor has not been assigned at the end of this period, an advisor is assigned upon the recommendation of the Institute Department/Major Art Department Chair and the decision of the EYK."
Otherwise, at the end of the periods specified for each student, a thesis advisor assignment recommendation is made to the relevant institute by the head of the institute department, and an advisor is assigned by the decision of the relevant EYK.” In accordance with this provision, it is mandatory to assign an academic advisor to the graduate students of our Department.
A faculty member will be assigned by the Head of the Department to our graduate students who do not determine an academic advisor by the period specified above.
