Graduation Exam-Announcement of Schedule Tuesday, 15 February 2022
Fall Semester Graduation Exams and Grade Entries 16-17 February 2022
(Adopted by the Senate decision dated 07.02.2013 and numbered 2013/03-26.)
In order to take the graduation exam, it is mandatory to have fulfilled the requirements to take the final exam of the relevant course. Students who cannot take the graduation exams are not granted the right to an excuse exam for this exam.
Application for the graduation exam is made through the Student Information System. The system automatically records the language of the course during application depending on which language the student has continuously taken the course in previously (Turkish if the course was taken in Turkish, English if taken in English). However, if the course was taken in different languages in different semesters, the student selects the language of the course in which they will take the graduation exam themselves through the system during application. (Added by the Senate decision dated 09.11.2017 and numbered 2017/07-13.)
For students who have at most two courses remaining to graduate, a graduation exam is administered for their failed courses to be held on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Students who cannot graduate because their cumulative grade point average is not 2.00 may take the graduation exam for at most two conditionally passed courses they choose. (Amended by the Senate decision dated 09.06.2016 and numbered 02-13)
In order to be successful in the graduation exam, it is mandatory to receive at least a CC grade. The grade received in the exam replaces the passing grade of that course. Midterm exams and semester work are not included in the evaluation.
Grades of DC and lower received in the graduation exam will not be taken into consideration. Therefore, the student's grade for the relevant course will remain as the grade prior to taking the graduation exam.
Students who have a course they have never taken before or who have an F0 grade in any course, even if they have taken it, cannot take the graduation exam for any course.
Following the receipt of applications, applications of students that do not comply with the Graduation Exam Principles will not be evaluated, and in the event that they take the exam erroneously, their exam results will be deemed invalid.
Students whose cumulative grade point average (AGNO) is 2.00 and above can only take the exam for the courses they have failed.
Students whose cumulative grade point average (AGNO) is below 2.00 can take the exam for conditionally passed courses of their choice. Since a student can take the exam for at most 2 courses, the sum of their failed courses, if any, and the conditionally passed courses to be chosen cannot exceed 2. In order to register for the exam of a conditionally passed course, the student must first register for the failed course, if any.
Students who have not selected courses for the semester in which the graduation exam will be taken, but will benefit from the graduation exam, are required to pay the tuition fee / student contribution for the semester in which they will take the exam. (Added by the Senate decision dated 16.04.2015 and numbered 01-06.)
